If you want to ensure that you always reach your customers with timely and relevant information, automations are a great way to do it. However, setting up an automation at the right time can be tricky.
In this blog post, we'll take a look at how to send automations at specific times in ActiveCampaign. We'll discuss the different types of automations, how to set up time-specific automations, and what you need to keep in mind when using this feature.
ActiveCampaign offers several different types of automations that you can use to send messages and emails to your customers. You can use the Email Automation to send out newsletters, the Campaign Automation to send out marketing campaigns, and the Automation Series to send out a series of messages. No matter which type of automation you choose, you'll be able to set up time-specific automations for each.
The most common automations to send at specific times are:
Enter Automation on date/time: contacts can only enter the automation when they meet the trigger condition and the segment containing the date and time conditions
Enter and wait: contacts will enter the automation immediately when the trigger condition is met, but can only continue when they meet the Wait action conditions
Date-based Trigger: automatically adds contacts from a list to the automation on a specific date/time
Once you've decided which type of automation you'd like to use, you can set up a time-specific automation by going to the Automations tab in the ActiveCampaign bar tool. From there, you can create an automation and build the Time-Specific that you want to use, as well as the time you'd like to send it out.
You can learn more about how to create each type of automation watching our tutorial (better to explain in a visual way)🔽
After you have all the steps ready, it would be really useful to run some tests to see if your automation works properly.
When setting up a time-specific automation, it's important to keep in mind that the time you choose may not be the same in all time zones.
It's also important to keep in mind that “Current Time Condition” applies to the entire hour you select when you have created the automation. That means any time between 12:00 pm and 12:59 pm can trigger the “12 pm” current time condition.
The same for “trigger + Segment conditions”… Contacts will only be added to the automation if they meet both the trigger and the segment conditions you set at the same time.
e.g. if your trigger is “Subscribes to List” with a segment of “Current month is December," then your contacts will need to subscribe to your list during the month of December to enter the automation. If some of the conditions are not meet, your automation is not going to work…
Setting up automations at specific times can be a great way to ensure that you're always reaching your customers with timely and relevant information. With ActiveCampaign, you can easily set up time-specific automations for each type of automation you choose. Just be sure to keep in mind the different time zones and the triggers that you selected when setting up your automation.
